dc.description The purpose of this paper seeks to analyze how the course of Environmental Education is managed at the Institute for Professional Development of Teachers, as from the stories of the informants. The approach underpinning this qualitative research is the interpretative phenomenological paradigm, as it is the starting point to understand from the subject, but in its relation with the object, what is happening in a reality, an environment and a context. The design is based on narrative theory proposed by Bal (1995), Gudmundsdotirr (1998) and Bolivar, Domingo Fernández (2001), which represents the path that invites us to know what humans experience, conceptualize and perceive about the world around them. Among the final considerations it is highlighted the intention to promote an environmental culture that lead to the development of environmentally responsible citizenship; also it is intended to promote a learning where the initial commitment rests on the participant. It is pursued intentionally create an environmental awareness and in that way, that the student takes its commitment to preserve the environment.<br>El propósito del presente trabajo procura analizar cómo se administra el curso Educación Ambiental en el Instituto de Mejoramiento Profesional del Magisterio, a partir de los relatos de los informantes. El enfoque que sustenta la presente investigación cualitativa es el paradigma fenomenológico interpretativo, ya que se tiene como punto de partida el entender desde el sujeto, pero de forma relacional con el objeto lo que está aconteciendo en una realidad, entorno y contexto. El diseño se apoya en la teoría narrativa propuesta por Bal (1995), Gudmundsdotirr (1998) y Bolívar, Domingo, Fernández (2001), la cual representa la vía que nos invita a conocer lo que los seres humanos experimentan, conceptualizan y perciben sobre el mundo que les rodea. Entre las consideraciones finales se destaca la intención de promover una cultura ambiental que conlleve al desarrollo de una ciudadanía responsable ambientalmente; asimismo, se intenta promover un aprendizaje donde el compromiso inicial descanse en el participante, se persigue intencionadamente crear una conciencia ambiental y, con ello, que el estudiante asuma su compromiso de preservar el ambiente.<br /> <br />
