dc.description O artigo propõe uma reflexão sobre os principais conceitos da teoria da atividade e do ensino desenvolvimental de Davydov, inscrita na tradição da psicologia históricocultural soviética, e suas contribuições para a didática das ciências naturais nos anos iniciais do ensino fundamental, visando a um ensino de qualidade no início do processo de educação científica da criança. Para tanto, articulamos os princípios psicológicos daquela teoria à constituição histórica e curricular do ensino de ciências para crianças nas escolas brasileiras e às questões referentes à formação para o ensino de ciências no curso de pedagogia.The article proposes a reflection on the main concepts of Davydov’s theory of activity and developmental teaching, inscribed in the tradition of soviet historical-cultural psychology, and its contributions to the teaching of natural sciences in the early years of elementar school, with the aim of assuring quality teaching in the beginning of a child’s scientific education. To this end, we articulate the psychological principles of this theory with the historical constitution and the curriculum of science education for children in Brazilian schools, and with issues related to teacher training for science education in undergraduate courses in education.
