dc.description	This article discusses the results of a sociological study of poverty of therural population of the Republic of Buryatia. Determined that poverty is a phenomenon which characterizes the economic and socio-cultural status of certain social groups. The main objective poverty measure taken income levels. The starting point in this case is the cost of living calculated statistics for that period of time. In therural society of Buryatia is the rapid aging of the population on the one hand and a constant outflow of young people on the other. One of the basic means of survival is to work in private households. Found that only a small proportion of therural population is characterized by the mobilization of all available resources in order to overcome the current situation, and for the most part there is passivity, apathy and general degradation. Noted that the process of impoverishment of therural population is Buryatia different psychological response, many respondents tend to upbeat assessment of their situation. Thus, the main cause of poverty of therural population of Buryatia is the collapse of agricultural production and the lack of infrastructure. Economic reforms have led to negative changes inrural life, eventually became alienated from agricultural production, mass unemployment, lower living standards inrural areas.
