dc.description We present the results of a study that aimed to bring teachers of the first years of elementary school in graduation to increase their view beyond the school for potentiating the actions with the historical knowledge to be taught in a systematic way for students in school. From concepts announced by different authors, among them Jörn Rüsen and Paulo Freire, we chose an object (phone booths) and elaborated some questions about the past the way of encouraging curiosity and research around the problem situation presented in the classroom: what ‘know’ people build of different ages to encounter, daily, with an ‘object’ whose function is to recall the past? The study was conducted using interviews with people who transited the boardwalk of Londrina, in a Saturday morning.
