dc.description For non-formal Environmental Education is fundamental objective the promotion of knowledge, attitudes and environmental values outside the formal education system, that translates into actions of care and respect for cultural and biological diversity. In that sense, this research is on analyzing the educational and environmental guidelines for teaching mediation in non-formal learning environments. We aimed to define the non-formal environmental education, its application in various fields and reflect on the guidelines for teaching mediation as well as on the existing legal framework, taking into account the educational approach. The documentary research design was based on literature. The revised theoretical approaches respond to Ander-Egg (2001), Sirvent (2007) and Tapia (2001), among others. The documentary research results show that educational and environmental guidelines for teaching measurements in informal learning environments should take into account the following aspects: the recipient, planning, organization of content in terms of cognitive-evaluative measures, the environment where things take place, and new ways of seeing and analyzing the context where the specific problems of the reality of the participants of the research are located. It could be also achieved a characterization of the components of these specific guidelines for non-formal education. Consequently, the importance of this research is to show explicitly the theoretical analysis derived from the guidelines that support the teaching action in environmental education to encourage professional development and contribute to improve individual and social living conditions.
