dc.description	Resumen:La evaluación de los aprendizajes es un proceso constante de producción de información para la toma de decisiones, sobre la mejora de la calidad de la educación en un contexto humano social, mediante sus funciones diagnóstica, formativa y sumativa. En los últimos veinte años el currículo costarricense ha propuesto para el sistema de educación formal hasta la educación diversificada costarricense enfoques epistemológicos que se orientan hacia el humanismo y el constructivismo, junto con el racionalismo académico. Sin embargo, en la práctica evaluadora prevalece un enfoque normativo, donde priva la medición de contenidos y se dejan de lado los procesos de evaluación formativos. En otras palabras, para que cambie el currículo debe también cambiar la práctica evaluadora y viceversa. Para repensar el currículo desde un punto de vista interdisciplinar es necesario tomar en cuenta la presencia de lo esencial, lo imprescindible, lo irrenunciable y descargarlo del exceso de contenidos que caracteriza actualmente a la mayoría de los sistemas educativos, para dar un giro a la evaluación desde lo inflexible y normativo al enfoque por competencias.Abstract:The assessment of the learning process is conceived as a process of constant compilation, analysis and decision making about the determination of the improvement of quality of education, through its diagnostic, formative and summative functions. In the last twenty years, the Costa Rican curriculum has proposed for the formal system, epistemological approaches oriented towards Humanism and constructivism, besides academic rationalism. However, in the practice, a normative approach prevails, where the most important aspect is the evaluation of contents, leaving aside the formative processes. In other words, in order to change the curriculum, the evaluat ion practice has to be changed too. Rethink the curriculum from a multi-discipline field, requires taking into account the essential, the things that are the most important, and unload the curriculum from the excess of contents that characterize nowadays the majority of educational systems. To give education a twist is necessary a criterial approach to the assessment of performance by competences.
