dc.description Este texto tem por objetivo apresentar a contribuição da metodologia da Aprendizagem Baseada em Problemas (PBL – Problem Based Learning) como estratégia didática para a formação de alunos capazes de pensamento crítico, de ação social coletiva e de engajamento social. Após uma análise do papel da Educação para o surgimento daperspectiva de mudança social, a pesquisa destaca que no PBL os alunos vivenciam a política, desenvolvem senso crítico e percebem o mundo. Mediante a resolução de problemas, que são microcosmos da vida real, o aluno adquire uma postura de recusa a qualquer ideologia fatalista de uma realidade que ele sabe ser indeterminada e passível de ser transformada mediante sua própria inserção no mundo.<br><br>Current essay contributes towards the evaluation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) methodology as a didactic strategy in the formation of students capable of critical thought, collective social activities and social commitment. After analyzing the role of education within the context of social change, research highlights that PBL students experience politics, develop the critical sense and are aware of their reality. Through the solution of problems, a microcosm of real life, the students take a stance by refusing any fatalistic ideology of a reality that they know to be indeterminate and is capable of transformation through their own insertion in the world.
