dc.description This study was carried out in order to understand the reading habits of 8th, 9th,10th,11th and 12th grade students ( in their free times) who are in their adolescence period. These findings were gathered by applying the questionnaires on secondary and high school students coming from different socio- economic classes, in the first term of the of the 2009-2010 Academic Year in Kirsehir.This study included 627 students. Results part were designed according to the frequency(F) percentage(%), arithmetic mean and standart deviation of the responses given by students.Some of the results can be summed up in this way: '' 239 of the subjects were girls and 388 of them were boys. Our findings implies that reading frequency of the female students are greater than the male ones' reading frequency, parents' training level promote reading frequency and 8th grade studets read much more than the 11th and12th grade students.
