For excellence the most interesting floating bodies of describing are the ships, which are not homogeneous that is tosay, of variable density. However, the homogeneous bodies offer an useful approach to the real behavior of a floatingsystem. This document describes the possible stable asymmetric orientations for a triangular body and of constantdensity in 2D, based on the approach of the critical values of the function of potential energy, associated to themovement of rotation of the same one. If we find the function of potential energy of any body we can characterize itsstability, this approach is important in the construction of crafts. |
