dc.description	A student having inappropriate educational background often fails the first university course. When the failure rate is expected to be high, the course objectives are difficult to attain. Modifying the teaching strategy could improve the situation, so a multidisciplinary project that involves topics in physics and climatology was developed. The project was designed to reinforce acquired capabilities, promote teaching improvement and learning, match expertise with instruction, and emphasize comprehension of principles. The project is structured in three parts and different subjects are related to the estimation of net radiation in a weather station. The main idea of the project is to promote that in some cases understanding the physics behind the parameter is often more useful than knowing how to measure it. Thus, modelling the net radiation is the crucial part of the project. The goals are to show the knowledge pursuit and to facilitate dissemination or adaptation to other universities.
