dc.description - How children get aware of their gender - How do children become young girls and young boys? This question in the field of Philosophy of Education lies beyond other sciences, such as Biology, Psychology, Sociology or Anthropology, inasmuch they discuss the subject mainly in the category of “sex” which leads to stereotyped explanations. In opposite to this, the contribution takes the category “gender” into consideration which defines sexual identity no longer as a combination of “nature” and socialization.
