dc.description	<DIV align=justify>Esta comunicação visa compartilhar alguns resultados pertinentes à pesquisa realizada no âmbito da pós-graduação, onde se buscou analisar a produção intelectual em sociologia ambiental na América Latina, entendendo quais são as propostas ou soluções que essa produção coloca para a minimização dos problemas socioambientais. A despeito dos resultados obtidos, nota-se que a educação ambiental, difundida como promessa para a emergência da consciência ambiental e possível superação da crise civilizatória, pouco se destaca dentre as preocupações da sociologia (como pode ser visto também em Layrargues, 2002). <p><DIV align=justify>This communication aims to share some pertinent results to the research carried in the scope of the after-graduation, where it searched to analyze the intellectual production in environmental sociology in Latin America, understanding which are the proposals or solutions that this production places for the minimization of social environmental problems. In relation to the results, it is noticed that environmental education, spread out as a promise to the emergency of environmental conscience and possible overcoming of the civilization crisis, a little is distinguished amongst the concerns of sociology (as it can also be seen in Layrargues, 2002).
