The reality experienced by people with disabilities has become the focus of studies and discussions, particularly with regard to their social inclusion and integration. Laws arise for changes, but what we see in practice is is far from ideal and an overview of real equality of opportunities for integration. When we speak of people with Intellectual Disability (ID) in adulthood, we find that it is a subject still little explored, though inserted in this complex situation experienced by people with disabilities, a scenario still permeated by the stigma and exclusion. Most of these people outside the labor market, many being allocated in the teaching of Youths and Adults (EJA) and still dependent on their families. This study aims to understand the reality experienced by an adult with ID and their families, identifying the characteristics of your routine, demands and existing support services. Therefore, this study utilized as a method to content analysis with the use of an interview. It was found were reported by the family studied is shown in the picture apparently found in the literature about people with disabilities, adults with ID is not inserted in the labor market and is completely economically dependent parents, however, there are expectations optimistic future and a positive outlook for the deficiency, seen as part of everyday life and not as a burden on the family.
