dc.description La política de admisión a la universidad, en tanto conjunto de lineamientos y procedimientos destinados a regular el acceso a este nivel, constituye un componente esencial de la política de educación superior. Surge de la relación demandantes--poder público en un contexto temporal y espacial determinado, e incluye tanto aspectos técnicos como propiamente políticos y sociales que necesariamente deben ser contemplados para su establecimiento. Cabe pues remarcar su carácter histórico; no es sólo el resultado de un cálculo técnico sino el producto de la convergencia de diferentes variables lo cual se aplica en los casos de Argentina y Brasil.<br>The admission policy to the university, linked to proceedings that regulate the acess to this level, is an essential component of the higher education policy. It's the result of the relation between claimants and public power in a particular temporal and spacial context, and includes technical, political and social aspects that have to be considered all together. The author remarks the historic character of the admission policy; it's not only the result of a technical calculation but the product of the articulation between different variables that are applied to the Argentine and Brazilian cases.
