dc.description	El propósito de este artículo es dar una mirada crítica a los procesos de integración curricular de las áreas de índole social en contextos formativos de dominancia científico-técnica. Para cumplir con lo propuesto, la primera parte, a manera de planteamiento del problema, subraya la existencia de límites creados y recreados entre las distintas disciplinas y áreas del conocimiento como principal motivo de fragmentación curricular. Asociado a lo anterior, la segunda parte concreta algunos de los más representativos obstáculos a dicha integración, enfatizando los relacionados con las diferencias existentes entre los códigos usados en los distintos campos del conocimiento y la presencia de jerarquías entre las diversas unidades académicas convergentes. Como resultado de las discusiones suscitadas, la tercera parte revela la artificialidad de las fronteras construidas entre lo científico y lo social, destacando su íntima cercanía. El artículo termina con algunas reflexiones en torno a la necesidad de equilibrio científico-social, haciendo un llamado a su urgente reconciliación.<br>The purpose of this article was to critically look to curricular integration processes of social disciplines in formative contexts of scientific-technical. First, we found created and recreated limits among different disciplines and knowledge areas as the main source for curricular fragmentation. Second, we identified some of the most representative obstacles to integration, emphasizing those related to differences among codes used in different fields of knowledge and the presence of hierarchies among diverse and convergent academic units. Third, the discussion of these findings highlighted the artificiality of man made frontiers between scientific and social knowledge and how close they can be. Finally, The article includes reflections on the need for scientific-social balance and a claim for urgent reconciliation.
