dc.description	[english] Since the beginning of 2004, thanks to funding by the Ministry for Science, Research and Art in Baden-Württemberg, the "Centre for Competence E-Learning in Medicine Baden-Württemberg" has been in existence at the University of Ulm. In the following article the goals and the range of tasks of the Centre for Competence will be presented. Particular emphasis here will be placed upon the presentation of the expected advantages for medical training at the five medical faculties in Baden-Württemberg. <br>[german] Seit Anfang 2004 besteht mit Förderung durch das Ministerium für Wissenschaft, Forschung und Kunst Baden-Württemberg (MWK) an der Universität Ulm das "Kompetenzzentrum E-Learning in der Medizin Baden-Württemberg". Im folgenden Beitrag werden Ziele und Aufgabenspektrum des Kompetenzzentrums vorgestellt. Besonderer Schwerpunkt liegt hierbei auf der Darstellung des erwarteten Nutzens für die Medizinische Ausbildung an den fünf Med. Fakultäten in Baden-Württemberg.
