dc.description This paper demonstrates the impact of a didactic approach based on the teaching of History from the use of narrative accounts and historical imagination. The research was marked by a multidisciplinary perspective which brought together contributions from literary criticism, the history of reading, studies of narrative, and the sociology of culture. The research focused on school and classes – which are spaces in which students have the access to the written culture and the learning. In relation to methodological issues, the research articulates principles of educational ethnography, participant observation, accounts and interviews. The main source of data was the writings of the students involved in the didactic experiment.
