dc.description <p>RESUMEN: el artículo estudia los distintos conceptos de Ilustración trasmitidos por los manuales escolares españoles desde los albores del siglo XIX hasta la actualidad. Concluye que el peso histórico de la derecha nacionalcatólica, la debilidad del republicanismo y la pusilanimidad del liberalismo, incapaz de defender los valores ilustrados frente a poderes fácticos como la Iglesia, han determinado (y determinan) el dominio abrumador de una visión comunitarista, que pretende justificar la incapacidad de la razón para cambiar la realidad.</p><p>ABSTRACT: The article analyses the different notions of Enlightment as taught in the Spanish textbooks from the beginnings of the 19th century to the present time. It reaches the conclusion that is has been the historical burden of the Spanish «Nacionalcatólica» right, together with a weak republicanism and a fainthearted Liberalism, unfit to stand up for the Enlightment values against actual powers a such as the Church, the ones which have decided (and still do) an overwhelming comunitarist view which tries to justify reason’s inability to change reality.</p>
