dc.description The paper is dedicated to theoretical concepts and empirical data on characteristics of gifted children. Based on review of contemporary domestic and foreign researches, the indicators of cognitive, motivational, emotional, and psychosocial gifted person were described. In the article the features of gifted children with a harmonious and disharmonious type of development are investigated and the features of failed mental development of gifted children are presented. Also in the article the difficulties and problems of the gifted child, who accompanied him in the process of development and creative expression, are described.
