This paper points out this socio-geographical phenomenon in the CHB, specifically in San Nicolas Place, traditional sector of Barranquilla. It is oriented to holistic research, especially to human geography, and it emphasizes on the geography of the perception and the behavior, both related to cultural geography. The urban changes in San Nicolas Place and their respective spatial impacts are shaped in mental maps built from the theory of spatial perception (Kevin Lynch), from the phenomenological geography (Yi Fu <span class="SpellE">Tuang</span>) and from the theory of social representations (<span class="SpellE">Moscovicci</span>).</span></span></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: xx-small;"><strong><span style="font-size: 8pt; font-family: Verdana; color: #003366;" lang="EN-US">Key-words:</span></strong><span style="font-size: 8pt; font-family: Verdana; color: #003366;" lang="EN-US"> urban and spatial changes, globalization, historical center, spatial and socio-geographical impacts, spatial arrangement, human geography, geography of the perception and the behavior, cultural geography, phenomenological geography, social representations theory, mental maps. </span></span></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: xx-small;"><strong><span style="font-size: 8pt; font-family: Verdana; color: #003366;" lang="EN-US">Résumé</span></strong></span></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: xx-small;"><span style="font-size: 8pt; font-family: Verdana; color: #003366;" lang="EN-US">Les <span class="SpellE">changements</span> <span class="SpellE">urbains</span> et <span class="SpellE">spatiaux</span> qui <span class="SpellE">ont</span> <span class="SpellE">eu</span> lieu au centre <span class="SpellE">historique</span> de Barranquilla (CHB), <span class="SpellE">Colombie</span>, <span class="SpellE">lors</span> des <span class="SpellE">vingt</span> <span class="SpellE">dernières</span> <span class="SpellE">années</span> <span class="SpellE">dans</span> le cadre de la <span class="SpellE">globalisation</span>, <span class="SpellE">méritent</span> <span class="SpellE">une</span> <span class="SpellE">analyse</span> <span class="SpellE">détaillée</span> des impacts <span class="SpellE">qu’ils</span> <span class="SpellE">ont</span> <span class="SpellE">produit</span> à <span class="SpellE">l’intérieur</span> des sub-<span class="SpellE">systèmes</span> <span class="SpellE">abiotic</span>, biotic et <span class="SpellE">antropic</span> de <span class="SpellE">cet</span> arrangement spatial. <span class="SpellE">Ce</span> travail <span class="SpellE">aborde</span> <span class="SpellE">l’analyse</span> de <span class="SpellE">ce</span> <span class="SpellE">phénomène</span> <span class="SpellE">sociogéographique</span> au CHB, <span class="SpellE">notamment</span> <span class="SpellE">dans</span> la Place de San Nicolas, <span class="SpellE">secteur</span> <span class="SpellE">traditionnel</span> de Barranquilla. <span class="SpellE">L’étude</span> <span class="SpellE">est</span> <span class="SpellE">orientée</span> à la <span class="SpellE">recherche</span> <span class="SpellE">holistique</span>, plus <span class="SpellE">particulièrement</span> à la <span class="SpellE">géographie</span> <span class="SpellE">humaine</span>, <span class="SpellE">mettant</span> <span class="SpellE">l’accent</span> <span class="SpellE">sur</span> la <span class="SpellE">géographie</span> du <span class="SpellE">comportement</span> et de la perception, <span class="SpellE">liées</span> à la <span class="SpellE">géographie</span> <span class="SpellE">culturelle</span>.
