dc.description General technical education starting at the pre-school level and finishing at the universities of the third age is fundamental for obtaining technical literacy and sustainable development of key competencies. It also increases chances of graduates on the labour market and helps to contribute to a higher quality of their life. Underestimation of provision of general technical education is one of the reasons of lower knowledge level of population of Slovak pupils, especially in the area of creative and analytical problem-solving tasks. The project described in the paper dealt with a proposal of a videoconference system (VCS) used for the pedagogical practice, methodological-vocational consultations with tutors and cooperating schools involved in the videoconference system project. Nowadays, connection of the theory with practice in the frame of pedagogical training of students requires innovations of the existing forms. That means the acceptation and implementation of the new technologies under the condition of sustaining the contemporary positive features. The above-mentioned issue has been dealt with by the members of the scientific team at the Department of Technology and Information Technologies at Faculty of Education, Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra, in the frame of the research project Videoconference System in Pedagogical Practice. The project team analysed the contemporary situation in the lifelong education of teachers, orientated on the area of practice videoconference systems and the application of e-learning methods. One part of the project consisted of the demonstrations of school lessons and their analyses from the point of view of their suitability for the implementation in the pedagogical practice. Results and outcomes of the research have been formulated as the recommendations for the pedagogical theory and practice and published in the monographic study DEPEŠOVÁ, J. et al: Pedagogical Practice Supported by the Information and Communication Technologies. UKF, Nitra: 2010. 165 pp. ISBN 978-80-8094-827-6
