dc.description En este documento me propongo abordar las siguientes cuestiones generales: (a) qué se entiende por representación y comprensión, análisis conceptual, delimitación de significados de estas nociones y de sus conexiones; (b) analizar la complejidad de la noción de representación: funciones epistémicas, objetividad, diversidad, paradojas; y (c) reflexionar en torno al interés general que tienen estas nociones para la investigación en Educación Matemática. De este modo, y mediante una serie de interrogantes, abro y centro el debate sobre las nociones de representación y comprensión en la investigación en Didáctica de la Matemática.</p><p>In this document I tackle the following general matters: (a) What do we understand when talking about representation and understanding, conceptual analysis, meanings of these notions and their connections; (b) analysis of the complexity of the representation notion: epistemic functions, objectivity, diversity and paradoxes; and (c) reflection concerning the general interest of the previous notions for Mathematics Education research. In this way and through various questions, I open and focus the debate about the notions of representation and understanding in Mathematics Education research.
