dc.description	Se analiza el surgimiento de la enfermería profesional como ciencia que ocupa un lugar importante en el desarrollo de las ciencias de la salud. Se muestra en el trabajo que la enfermería como profesión está adquiriendo la categoría de una disciplina científica, lo que pone a prueba a cada instante sus propias bases teóricas y fomenta el desarrollo académico de los profesionales que la ejercen. Se ejemplifica con el proceso de atención de enfermería como método científico de trabajo, en el cual se caracterizan y evidencian los valores humanos de la profesión. Se plantean los principios éticos y bioéticos que rigen el modo de actuación de la enfermería profesional. Se concluye que la utilización del proceso de atención de enfermería como método científico de trabajo logra una mayor comunicación e interacción entre los pacientes, el personal de enfermería y el resto de los profesionales del sistema, y contribuye a convertirlos en agentes de cambio, defensores y colaboradores de la profesión.<br>The emergence of professional nursing as a science that holds an important place in the development of health sciences is analyzed. It is shown in the paper that nursing as a profession is acquiring the category of a scientific discipline, which continuously tests its own theoretical bases and fosters the academic development of the professionals in this field. This is exemplified with the nursing care process as a scientific working method in which the human values of this profession are featured and demonstrated. The ethical and bioethical principles ruling the performance of professional nursing are addressed. It is concluded that the use of the nursing care process as a scientific working method encourages broader communication and interaction among the patients, the nursing staff and the rest of the professionals and contributes to turn them into change promoting-agents, advocators and collaborators of the nursing profession.
