The aim of this study is to determine the problem solving skills and self-efficiency belief level of social studies Pre-service teachers. Problem solving skills and self-efficiency levels towards social studies were investigated according to the variables relating to their class level, gender and the type of their graduation from the high schools. The research was carried out as descriptive using survey model. The sample of the research consists of students attending to the social studies department of Amasya University Education faculty in 2006-2007 education year.170 students were chosen randomly. At the end of the study it is seen that there is not a meaningful differences between the problem solving skills and self-efficiency belief level of Pre –service students attending to the social studies relating to their class level, gender and the type of their graduation from the high school.
