Description:
After a short survey of a prominent philologist V.M. Zhirmunsky’s scientific heritage, the issue of research of his archives in the Institute of Russian Literature (Pushkinskiy Dom) and in the Academy of Sciences is discussed. The paper is centered on the collections of dialectological material resulted from Zhirmunsky’s scientific expeditions to the German colonies in the USSR in the 1920-ies.
