The paper aimed to explore the presence and intensity of under practice strategies to promote scholars’ engagement inresearch activities in Pakistani universities. Major Objective of the study was to examine the reasons of scholars’ fragileengagement in research practices. Preparation of recommendations to support and refine the research enriching strategies wasalso part of research objectives. The study was delimited to the opinions of PhD and MPhil Scholars of only two nationaluniversities. A 10 items questionnaire was developed and used to collect data from one hundred PhD and MPhil scholars. Datawas analyzed in term of percentage. Majority of the respondents disclosed the absence of research enriching activities in theinstitutions. There were no standardized criteria and set of principles to supervise the research students. The studyrecommends the provisions of different opportunities, without any gender disparity, to enhance scholars’ engagements inresearch activities. The study also recommends further research to develop code of role and responsibilities for scholars,research supervisors and institutions for this purpose.
