RESUMEN: Aunque los investigadores en historia de la educación han asumido la importancia de los fenómenos educativos que se producen fuera de la escuela no han dejado de sentir una atracción especial por las instituciones escolares. La atención a otros espacios y tiempos de formación no siempre es fácil a causa de que no tenemos tan desarrollados los recursos metodológicos y de una mayor dificultad para localizar las fuentes. En este monográfico sobre identidad juvenil y educación se incluyen artículos que ponen de manifiesto el interés que pueden tener los procesos educativos fuera de la escuela para conocer los mecanismos de socialización y formación de la juventud.<br /><br /> ABSTRACT: Although investigators in History of Education have always understood the importance of the educational phenomena that take place out side school time, they have not ceased to feel an special attraction to education institutions. The attention upon other places and moments of education can become a rough task due to the lack of development of methodological resources and the difficulty for locating the sources. In this monographic about young people's identity and education there are articles included that show the interest that educational processes can have out side school to know the mechanisms of socialisation and education of the youth.
