Description:
The processes of electromechanical electric sparks produced by a piezoelectric ceramic are presented in this research. The overall goal is to identify the relationship between processes generated by a controlled method and a transient one.To control voltages in magnitude and time, the theories that describe the processes that develops in electric sparks,Townsend and Streamers showed consistency with experimental results. The application a potential pulse, notgenerated by a source, used to create the spark, showed that the above processes will occur in a single spark. Theresults show the location in time of each process: the phenomenon of rupture of Townsend and the glow corona effecton the cathode and the anode facing ionized cloud, the Trichel pulses and the duration of the event. In the direction oftraining, theoretical and experimental work involved in solving the problem is an example of activities that studentscan develop from the basic courses.
