Results of this paper basis on a survey study conducted to identify the parents’ approach towards education of their children in Bahawalpur, Pakistan. The study aimed to investigate the approaches of parents they adopt for educating their children in Pakistan by using data collected through questionnaire from 759 intermediate level students. The study concluded that parents have adopted some styles that negatively affect educational attainment of their children. Some from them included practicing gender discrimination, imposing decisions about the educational matters on children, preferring tuitions instead of helping themselves and ignoring call by school. Study suggested parents to understand the needs of students, adopting approaches helpful in promotion of children through better educational process.
