Description:
It is well known that some insects show the ability to walk on the surface of water. This phenomenon can’t be explained by the buoyancy force, but by the surface tension force; due to this force the liquid drops tend to be spherical. The surface tension of some liquids can be measured using a syringe (with circular tip) and high speed camera. The aim of the present work is to consolidate the concept of surface tension and to measure it by means of a pendant drop method
