Description:
Subject of the research is interpretation of the concept "elite" as categorial construction in the created theories of an elite education. The purpose of the work is to carry out the analysis of transformation of elites understanding, characteristic for classical and post-classical theories of elite education. The analysis of ideas of P. Shtommpka, M. Archer, E. Giddens, V. Myulman, P. Bourdieu, M. Roceach, T. Carlyle, L. Frond, G. Endruweit, T. Dreitzel, O. Shtammer, D. Risman, S. Keller, T. Dai showed that there is an active and dynamic process of a sociologization, rationalization (desacralization) and a subjectification of criteria of elitism. At a turn of the XX-XXI centuries there was a need of change of understanding of elite, a characteristic for classical theories of elite education. Noocratic concept of elite which authors are J. Bernkhem, J. Gabraith, D. Bell are analyzed as well as theoretical statements of A. Toffler, A. Turen, Y. Habermas, M. Platner, Z. Bzhezinsky, V. K. Petrosyan etc. In conclusion the intellectual elite is considered as people of knowledge, as new generation with the improved evolutionary characteristics, as combined evolutionary (or innovative) mind of human community. In this regard the fundamental role in social reorganization of post-industrial information society is played by the education centers, in particular universities. Preparation of intellectual elite became need. Priority value in university education at preparation of intellectual elite is given to humanistic sense of education in system of values and norms, integrating elite as a social community. The results of the research have theoretical and practical importance, and can be used at further working out of philosophical questions, in particular, concerning transformation of elite and mass in education.
