The folklore of Russian population of Bashkortostan is presented by a heritage of natives of many provinces of Russia. It passed stages of functioning of ethnocultural dialects, their levellings, formation of all-Russian traditions, interactions with other people (East Slavic, Turkic, Finno-Ugric). The purpose of article is the analysis of the factors which have defined an originality of Russian folklore in the region. The urgency of a subject is caused by that the Republic of Bashkortostan can serve as model of the various ethnic contacts amplifying around the world. For carrying out research field materials of the author and archival sources are involved. It is established that preservation of ethnic traditions is caused by natural and geographical factors (better in maintain-forest areas), remoteness from the urbanization centers, and also "nested" type of settlements, especially natives of one province. Ethnocultural feed was promoted by communications with the former homeland. In the XX century development of tradition national creativity was defined by processes of an urbanization, industrialization and internationalization. Disappearance of many folklore genres became a consequence of antireligious fight and an official ban on their execution. Reorganization in the country together with political reforms opened possibility of revival of national traditions.
