The objective of this research is to make a comparative study between the discourse of the press and the audiovisual media discourse, in this case the cinema, the disclosure of a fact: The Great Train Robbery, which occurred on June 14, 1960, in Rio de Janeiro. It examines how the news reported by print media, about the fact, served as a source of information for the construction of cinematic language. It seeks to discover the similarities between these two speeches. The theoretical framework used is discourse analysis, the French expert Patrick Charaudeau, with emphasis on the discourse of the media, and the corpus of analysis covers 04 scenes from the movie "The Great Train Robbery" and the news published in the newspaper O Globo, Rio de Janeiro, between the 15 thand the assault on 18/06/60.
