The article presents the main results of the research of self-actualization and self-attitude of officers in assessing professional suitability. The specificity of self-actualization and self-attitude relationship was determined and identified in the correlation research. The results can be used in the prevention of disadaptive consequences of professional activities that obstruct self-actualization. The study revealed the interrelation of processes of self-actualization and self- attitude of police officers, which influence on efficiency and personal development in the profession. A high level of self-value revealed in the study of self-attitude, which indicates the self-centered behavior. These factors have been identified as a restriction of optimization process of self-actualization in the evaluation of professional suitability. The scale of support and self-esteem were the factors of possible basis of police officer’s personality self-actualization.
