»<br>This article describes the materials, organization, and pedagogical methods used in a university undergraduate French language unit which develops performance skills through the practical study of modern French theatre texts. The article describes the week-by-week activities which develop competence and confidence in speaking French in public, providing students with transferable performance skills which prepare them for professional life. It focuses in part on how the unit is adapted for the specific contexts of language for special purposes for French language and Law, and French language and Management studies while situating the unit within contemporary pedagogical theory.
