Description:
The isothermal compression of an ideal gas exercise is solved, considering an electromagnetic origin for forces appliedto it, using a Relativistic Thermodynamics formalism similar to that previously developed by Arzeliès and VanKampen, in the frame of the Asynchronous Formulation of Relativistic Thermodynamics. In this relativistic frameworkmechanical and thermodynamical processes merge in the First Law of Relativistic Thermodynamics expressed, usingMinkowski’s 4-vectors, as ΔUμ = Wμ + Qμ, in a covariant Lorentz formulation, which, together to electromagneticinteractions covariant formulation, constitutes a covariant Lorentz formulation of Classical Physics.
