The purpose of the study was the determination of the sphere of interests of foreign cultural policy of Russia in the Internet. The academic novelty of the article is determined by the first attempt to understand the real and potential place of foreign cultural policy of Russia in the emerging system of Internet governance, and, in accordance with the place, the range of its interests in the field of Internet governance. The study was conducted by analyzing the Annex #1 to the Russian Foreign Policy Concept. As a result, the conclusion is made concerning the four areas of interest: diffusion of Russian culture in the Internet, managing linguistic content of the web, simplification of import of intellectual property objects via the Internet, and the struggle with the centralization of communications. A recommendation is given, according to which the cultural dimension of Russian policy in the area of Internet governance should not be based only on officially formulated basic directions of participation in international cultural and humanitarian cooperation. It must be sensitive to the trends of development of information and communication space of the Internet, flexibly adapting to the changes taking place in it.
