Description:
The article deals with patriotism and tolerance in the study of self-understanding of ethno-cultural identity of the Armenian youth Kuban. The purpose of this paper is the analysis of the phenomena of patriotism and tolerance, a study of their relationship. Patriotism is regarded as the ideological penetration into the core of ethnocultural tradition, trying to see in the usual norms and patterns of behavior common human values and ideals. Therefore, the importance of patriotism, according to the authors, is closely related to the value of tolerance. Tolerance is seen as the understanding of identity, in the general cultural horizon, the value of cultural features in the context of the actual level of human existence. Tolerance as a worldview is a measure of the total value and different, involving respect for "the other", the acceptance of "strange" without losing "their". The authors conclude that tolerance is not opposed to patriotism, but rather arises from the reflection of ethnocultural values.
