La problemática actual de la formación docente en Venezuela revela un currículum fragmentado, desvinculado tanto teórica como contextualmente; por ello, con este estudio se pretendió realizar un análisis acerca de la necesidad de que la Pedagogía se constituya en fundamento y eje del currículum para formar docentes. Los factores que tomaron en cuenta para la reconceptualización de la Pedagogía como eje fundamental de la formación docente fueron: a) Relaciones entre Pedagogía y Filosofía; b) Modelos Pedagógicos y Producción de Conocimiento; c) Interdisciplinariedad de la Pedagogía; d) Pedagogía e Historicidad; e) Carácter de la relación Sujeto y Objeto en la Pedagogía; y como corolario, f) la Pedagogía como ciencia que fundamenta la formación docente. El análisis presentado en este estudio, se asume como un aporte al currículum para formar docentes en Venezuela, dirigido a reivindicar la relevancia de la Pedagogía para transformar los procesos de enseñanza y aprendizaje, la educación y el entorno, respondiendo así a los lineamientos nacionales que le otorgan preeminencia en la formación del educador.<br>The current problems of teacher education in Venezuela reveal a fragmented, disconnected curriculum both theoretically and contextually; therefore, this study sought to analyze the need for pedagogy to become a foundation and mainstay of the curriculum for teacher education. The factors taken into account in the conceptualization of pedagogy as the core of teacher training were: a) Relationship between Pedagogy and Philosophy; b) Pedagogical models and production of knowledge, c) Interdisciplinarity of Pedagogy, d) Teaching and Historicity, e) The nature of the subject and object in Pedagogy and, as a corollary, f) Pedagogy as a science which underpins teacher education. The analysis in this study is assumed as a contribution to the curriculum for teacher training in Venezuela, aimed at asserting the relevance of Pedagogy in the transformation of the teaching and learning process, education, and the environment, thus responding to national guidelines that grant its prominence for teacher training.
