Tourism is characterized by its multidimensional nature. Many factors have influences on it. The tourism education is identified as one of the main study discipline which has a central role in preparing graduates. The paper deals with some aspects of formal tourism education and its mission in preparing professionals for the industry. The predominance of vocational focus in education is known as creating the packaged certificate. Many authors perceive the need for concentrating not only on the vocational but also non vocational education. To be able to reflect, create and act, make career decisions, or have appropriate attitudes and personal culture, these all are the crucial equipment of successful job candidate. My own research outputs confirm the importance of overcoming the packaged certificate too. Three research areas (cooperation, involvement in projects and the language readiness of the respondents) are finally interpreted within formal tourism education in Bratislava region.
