Purpose of the research work. To study the issue of providing paid medical services to convicts in the penal correction system institutions. Novelty: There was conducted a case study among prisoners, medical workers of public and private sectors, as well as medical workers of the Federal Penitentiary Service. Methodology of the research work. There are presented the results of the study of the legal acts that regulate paid medical services provision and the data of the survey conducted among convicts and health care providers. There has been used the method of peer review based on the survey of the FPS physicians. Results. There have been determined the major legal and institutional problems of the provision of paid medical services to convicts in penitentiary facilities and ways of their solution. Practical implication: These results can be used to develop regulations and civil contracts for the provision of paid medical services to convicts in the penal correction system institutions.
