dc.description	Este artículo procede de la Conferencia de Clausura de las Jornadas Interuniversitárias que tenía lugar el 26 de marzo de 2010, organizada por la Universidad Pompeu Fabra, la Universidad Autònoma de Barcelona y la Universidad de Barcelona. Se trata de los cambios que ha experimentado en los últimos años el concepto de “aprendizaje de la lengua mediante su uso”, específicamente en el aula en la enseñanza de lenguas extranjeras. El artículo expone las interpretaciones que se han dado a ese concepto a lo largo de la historia de la metodología de la enseñanza de segundas lenguas para posteriormente sintetizar los nuevos planteamientos se encuentran actualmente. Argumenta que este nuevo enfoque modifica no sólo el concepto de interacción en el aula, sino plantea otra perspectiva sobre el papel de la lengua (L1 y otras) en el aprendizaje de una nueva lengua.---------------------------------------------------------------This article ítems from the closing ceremony of the Jornadas Interuniversitárias that were held on 26 March 2010 at the Universidad Pompeu Fabra and which were organised by the Universidad Pompeu Fabra, the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona and the Universidad de Barcelona. The article outlines the changes that the notion of “learning languages through language” has undergone in recent times, specifically in the foreign language classroom. The article provides an historical overview of the various interpretations of this concept in second language learning in order to synthesize how this has brought about changes in the classroom. It is argued here that this new focus not only modifies the concept of classroom interaction, it also brings a new dimension to the role of language (L1 and others) into the learning of another language.
