Purpose German diary entries in individual, non-thematic shared on-line journal are analyzed as a new form of autobiographical narrative, specificity of objectivation, representation of autobiographical memory functions are revealed. Methodology Interpretative approach, analysis of dictionary entries, semantic interpretation, contextual, quantitative analysis are used in the paper. Results Blogs objectify some modification of autobiographical memory functions. Its communicative and therapeutic functions are most expressed. Posts document imprint interactive, intersubjective, emotional and axiological nature of ABM. Verbalized functions correlate with compositional features of texts, relevant language and nonlanguage means. Blogger needs and peculiar properties of computer-mediated communication determine the discursive parameters of on-line journals. Practical implications The paper is of interest for specialists in the fields of Internet linguistics, computer-mediated communication, discourse, individual, autobiographical memory, psychology of memory.
