O presente trabalho apresenta e discute os resultados de um estudo realizado com 99 alunos do nível médio de uma escola particular no município de Ouro Preto-MG. O objetivo foi identificar suas concepções acerca da Biologia e suas opiniões sobre o ensino da referida disciplina e elaborar um cenário de investigação para futuros docentes, professores iniciantes ou mesmo aqueles com maior experiência. A fim de superar o simples discurso especulativo, os saberes escolares e as práticas educacionais são questionados revelando resultados que podem contribuir para a melhoria da prática docente no ensino de Biologia.This work presents and discusses the results of the study with 99 high-school students in a private school in the city of Ouro Preto-MG. Its main objectives were to identify their conceptions about Biology and their opinion about Biology teaching and to build a scenario of investigation for future, beginner or experienced teachers in the educational area. In order to overcome the speculative discourse, the school knowledge and the educational practices are questioned. This study obtained important information that may help the educational practice of teachers in Biology teaching.
