Description:
The purpose of this work is the characteristic of the initial period of development of Russian military school under Peter I. Methodological basis of work contains principles of objectivity, historicism, determinism and consistency. The object of study is the work of such educational institutions as the school of mathematical and navigation sciences and the Navy academy. System of completing of schools by pupils and teachers, content of educational process, mode of life and manners of pupils are considered in detail. The conclusion is that the formation of system of domestic military education was connected with measures of violence caused by the negative attitude of all the stratums of Russian society to training and bad conditions in first schools. This conclusion can be used during creation of complex generalizing works about Russian history of the beginning of XVIII cent. and the history of Russian education.
