dc.description This study was designed to determine how, after the implementation of the new elementary school Science and Technology Course curriculum, 7th and 9th grade students perceive, construct in their mind the concept of energy and related concepts; and how the perceptions change over time. Thus, a questionnaire consisting of four open-ended questions was administrated to a total of 120 among 6th-, 7th- and 8th-grade students. A qualitative analysis of the data indicated that students have difficulties in constructing the concepts of energy, energy supply, form of energy and transportation of energy.
