Este artigo foi escrito com base em uma pesquisa realizada no C.A. João XXIII/UFJF, no ano de 2010. Tomamos como inspiração a palavra "gaiola" para problematizar como a escola foi se constituindo como espaço que tem como uma de suas funções enclausurar os corpos para melhor controlá-los, sob uma perspectiva disciplinar. Para isso, buscamos as aproximações entre o pósestruturalismo e as teorizações de Michel Foucault. Isso significa dizer que estamos interessados nos discursos e práticas que constituem os sujeitos e sobre as relações de poder que envolvem conflitos, negociações, avanços e recuos. Aproximações que nos possibilitam assumir as escolas, os alunos e suas identidades como categorias em constante construção social, cultural e discursiva e, por isso, instáveis e incompletas. Pretendemos problematizar a construção do sujeito, moderno e atual, como objeto e produto das relações de poder/saber.<br>This article was written from a research conducted in the C.A. João XXIII/UFJF in the year of 2010. This article was written using a piece of research, conducted at the C.A. João XXIII/UFJF, in 2010, as its basis. For inspiration, we took the word "cage" to highlight how the school has transformed itself into a space where one of its functions is to imprison bodies in order to better control them, within a perspective of disciplining. To examine this issue, we search for the similarities between poststructuralism and Michel Foucault's theories. This means to say that we are interested in both the conversations and actions that individuals (the subjects) are comprised of, and in the power relationships, involving conflicts, negotiations, advances and retreats. This approach makes it possible for us to consider schools, students, and their identities, as categories undergoing constant social and cultural construction and, therefore, unstable and incomplete. We intend to highlight the problem of the construction of the subject, both contemporary and real, as object and product of power/knowledge relationships.
