In this study, determining critical thinking and education levels, which are in sub-dimensions, of music teacher candidates, determining critical thinking tendency and the relations between sub dimensions and detecting if or if not critical thinking tendency creates a difference in terms of gender, class and what type of school they graduated from are aimed. Work group composes of 274 students being educated in the Departments of Music Education GSEB of Education Faculty of Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University, Necatibey Education Faculty of Balıkesir University and Education Faculty of Çanakkkale Onsekiz Mart University. The data of the study was accumulated by the California Critical Thinking Tendency Scale. In the wake of the study, it was found that music teacher candidates have a medium-level tendency in general critical thinking and its sub-dimensions and that there are high-level significant relations in a positive way between critical thinking tendency and its sub-dimensions. Critical thinking tendencies of music teacher candidates not being differentiated according to the gender and class variable, teacher candidates graduated from general high school having a higher critical thinking tendency than the ones graduated from Anatolian Fine Arts High School were determined.
