The Argentine educational historiography considers the document that we present as a fundamental piece to exemplify the educational ideas and proposals of the Enlightened Movement in «Río de la Plata». The relationship between education and the State; education, work, and economy; women education; utilitarianism; are some of the topics identified in the Report which is commented. This pedagogical thought boosted by Belgrano had continuity in his journalistic writings and in the proposals and achievements during his public intervention as a royal official and as a revolutionary leader. The political leading role of Belgrano facilitates the enquiry on the elements of continuity and pedagogical rupture —and not only pedagogical— between the Enlightenment and the Independence movements. The complexity and eclecticism of his thought are not usually considered by the educational historiography.<br>El documento que presentamos es considerado una pieza central por la historiografía educativa argentina para ejemplificar las ideas y propuestas educativas del movimiento ilustrado en el Río de la Plata. La relación entre educación y Estado; educación, trabajo y economía; educación de la mujer; utilitarismo son algunos de los temas identificados en la Memoria que comentamos. Este ideario pedagógico impulsado por Belgrano tendrá continuidad en su prédica periodística y en propuestas y realizaciones durante su actuación pública como funcionario de la Corona y como dirigente revolucionario. El protagonismo político de Belgrano facilita la interrogación sobre los elementos de continuidad y de ruptura pedagógica —y no sólo pedagógica— entre el movimiento ilustrado y el independentista. La complejidad y eclecticismo de su pensamiento no en todos los casos es recogido por la historiografía educacional.
