O ensaio propõe a relação entre o controle social democrático e o direito de acesso às informações do Estado, em especial nos conselhos gestores da política de Assistência Social. Foi construído a partir da revisão crítica de literatura de Assistência Social e de Comunicação Social, do levantamento de documentos de organizações governamentais e não governamentais e de dados de pesquisas. A partir da argumentação lógica, busca contribuir articulando conhecimentos e propostas de áreas distintas em prol da gestão pública democrática, da garantia dos espaços e direitos conquistados pela sociedade brasileira e pelos usuários da Assistência Social em particular. <br> This essay proposes the relation between the social democratic control and the right of access to state-held information, particularly in the councils of social Assistance Policy. Is has been based on the critical review of the literature, governmental and nongovernmental organizations documents, and the researches data. Based on the logical argumentation, the paper seeks to contribute articulating knowledge and proposals from different areas in support of the democratic governance, the spaces and the rights conquered by Brazilian society and by the users of social care in particular.
